Winter Bailey (Standing Black Bear Woman, Bear Clan) is a proud Dene and Cree woman from Akaitcho Territory in the Northwest Territories and a member of Deninu Kųę́ First Nation (Treaty 8). She is a second-generation miner with nearly two decades of experience and has held leadership roles across the mining sector, most recently as Senior Manager, Communities & Social Performance Americas for Minerals at Rio Tinto.
Throughout her career, Winter has championed Indigenous engagement, negotiated impact benefit agreements, and built meaningful partnerships with Indigenous governments and communities across Canada and internationally. A lifelong learner, mentor, and traditional Dene artist, she is committed to advancing Indigenous leadership and supporting sustainable community development.
