With over 25 years in the non-profit sector, Jen Atkinson has a strong track record of supporting growth and strengthening community-based organizations. She brings deep experience in business development, leadership, and team building, with a particular talent for creating programs and structures that inspire action and inclusivity.
As Director of Operations, Jen supports the design, delivery, and long-term success of community-driven projects and partnerships. She takes a relationship-first approach to operations, blending strategic oversight with practical implementation to ensure teams, partners, and projects are well supported. Her work spans operations and project management, program design, facilitation, budgeting, and team development, with a focus on building internal systems that strengthen collaboration, accountability, and long-term organizational health.
Her experience includes youth engagement, environmental planning, and water monitoring and infrastructure initiatives, with a strong emphasis on working respectfully and effectively alongside First Nations communities.
Throughout her career, Jen has held senior leadership roles across a range of non-profit and community organizations, leading complex, multi-partner initiatives in environmental stewardship, water and energy systems, community infrastructure, and workforce development. She is known for balancing big-picture thinking with grounded, practical action.
Jen is a graduate of Fleming College in Ecosystem Management, and her commitment to sustainability, reciprocity, and community well-being underpins all of her work. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Georgian Bay’s trails and waterways, supporting local artists and musicians, and spending time outdoors.
