Jamie Miller is a nature-based designer and expert in biomimicry, biophilia and ecological engineering. He is focused on our response to a changing climate, an experienced Public Speaker with a demonstrated history of consulting with industry leaders, skilled in Sustainable Development, Resilience, Urban Planning, Sustainable Business, Environmental Awareness, and Systems Thinking. He also has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focused in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph. In 2019, Jamie started the Biomimicry Commons, a biomimicry education and incubator platform that was named a “World Changing Idea” by Fast Company. He also founded and was President of Biomimicry Frontiers, an award winning sustainability consultancy. He has been co-director of OCAD University’s Biomimicry Program and is currently Global Director of Biomimicry at B+H, a globally renowned architecture design and consulting firm. Jamie was trained a number of Elders and Janine Benyus, the founder of Biomimicry, on the deeper principles of the practice.
