Join us on September 27th at 12 pm, 2023, as we st Join us on September 27th at 12 pm, 2023, as we stand in solidarity with five First Nations from Northern Ontario in their march for justice! They're coming to Toronto to call on Premier Ford to end unwanted mining on their Territories. These resilient First Nations have formed a historic alliance to protect their lands and waters against mining exploration companies, enabled by the Ford Government.

Prospectors have staked thousands of claims on their territories under Ontario's "free entry" mining system without Indigenous consent. Ontario doesn't even require prospectors to notify First Nations until after the claims are registered, while prospectors aren't informed about whose land they're staking until after purchase. These claims grant broad rights to explore and own valuable minerals, but they threaten the ancestral homes of Indigenous people, their culture, and livelihoods.

Despite countless attempts to engage the Ford government, the free entry system remains, and new claims are registered against the will of First Nations. It's time to stand together and make a change! 🙌✊ #ProtectOurLand #IndigenousRights #StandWithFirstNations #GrassyNarrows #FreeGrassy #LandAlliance
